Beginning April 1st until November 15th a Road Access Permit is required for any use of the 58 kilometers of Crown roads located in the North Frontenac Parklands. All vehicle types require a permit. Fees collected for Road Access Permits are reinvested by the Township into maintenance and upkeep of the crown roads, boat launches and campsites within the North Frontenac Parklands.
Although many of the North Frontenac Parklands lake access points and campsites can only be reached by travelling on a Crown road when you ‘Reserve a Campsite’ a portion of the camping permit fee is allocated for road access, thus:
Road Access is included (for one Vehicle) upon reserving a Campsite.
Daily, Weekly and Seasonal Road Access Permits are available. Please ‘click here’ for a map indicating what roads require a Road Access Permit.
Day Use permits are available (i.e. for a day of hiking, canoeing, exploring or biking) to North Frontenac Parklands without an overnight stay at a campsite. Day Use Permits can be purchased online, at at the Municipal Office, at North of 7 Fresh-Mart (Plevna) or at the Palmerston Lake Marina (Ompah). Daily Road Permits are $9.50 plus a $3.00 Administration Fee.
Weekly permits are available to purchase online, at the Municipal Office, at North of 7 Fresh-Mart (Plevna) or at the Palmerston Lake Marina (Ompah). Weekly Road Permits are $22.50 plus a $3.00 Administration Fee.
Seasonal Non-Residential Road Access Permits can be bought online, at the Municipal Office, at North of 7 Fresh-Mart (Plevna) or at the Palmerston Lake Marina (Ompah). Seasonal Road Access Permits are $45.00 plus a $3.00 Administration Fee.
Residents of the Township of North Frontenac must purchase their road access permit directly from the Municipal Office at 6648 Road 506 just south of Plevna.
The Township of North Frontenac is pleased to announce that if you possess an Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance Gold Pass Permit, you will not be required to purchase a North Frontenac Township Road Access Permit to ride the Crown roads within North Frontenac Parklands.
