Mair Lake, Hungry Lake, and Redhorse Lake
This group of 3 lakes is located in the northeastern region of the North Frontenac Park Lands (below the south end of Norcan lake). Smaller than their southern counterparts these lakes offer a more remote setting with land access restricted to Crown roads (logging and utility line servicing trails) requiring off-road capable vehicles.
While these lakes are a popular hotspot, they are relatively small by comparison to the other North Frontenac Park Lands lakes.
Mair Lake has 12 campsites, Hungry Lake, a tiny isolated lake, has 2 campsites, and Redhorse Lake has 8 campsites,
From Road 509 just east of Ompah turn onto Canonto Road. From Canonto turn left onto Arcol Road (between Palmerston and Canonto lakes). Follow Arcol Road for 8.5km to the turnoff for Redhorse Lake (along the way Arcol changes from a secondary township road to a Crown road). Stay on Arcol to Hydro Lane (an access road that parallels the hydro line) to reach the other lakes. At Hydro Lane turn right. Follow it to the 3-way junction, Hungry Lake is here, carry on staying to the right to reach Mair then Govan lakes.
